SAIGON ARRIVAL – CITY TOUR (L)

Upon arrival, be welcomed by our guide and driver, transfer to Saigon center. Begin your tour of this fascinating city with a tour by walking along Dong Khoi Street formerly known as the Rue Catinat, the main shopping thoroughfare and heart of old colonial Saigon. Visit to the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Next, head out to Cho Lon (China Town) continue to visit Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda, build by the Cantonese congregation and dedicated to the heavenly goddess. Back to hotel for check-in. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

 

SAIGON – MY THO – BEN TRE – TRA VINH (L/D)

8:00 am you will be picked up by our guide and then depart for My Tho Town in Tien Giang Province; dip into the beauty of rice fields along the way. Visit Vinh Trang pagoda which is the “must visit” site in Tien Giang. The pagoda is an ancient Southern gem with the combination of Asian and European architecture including Renaissance period and Romanesque style.

Next, arrive in My Tho, take a boat trip on Mekong River to visit farmer’s house and garden. View the fishing port, the traditional stilt houses and boat building workshops, and three islands including Dragon, Phoenix, Unicorn and Tortoise. Also ride horse and carriage around villages to see the local life and taste tropical fruits and honey tea at bee-keeping farm; listen to traditional music and visit coconut candy manufacturer. After that, roam around villages to get deeper understanding of local life.

Continue your trip to Mekong Garden where you will immerse in the peace and beauty of the countryside. After check-in the bungalow, have a short bike ride or wander around the area surrounded by orchards, rice fields, canals and lines of coconut tree. After that have a cooking demonstration in which you can learn to make Vietnamese food.

 

TRA VINH – CAI BE FLOATING MARKET – SAIGON (B/L/D)

After breakfast at Mekong Garden Resort, then head out to Tien Giang Province where you will visit Cai Be floating market. You are advised to visit early morning to avoid the crowd. Arrive Cai Be, board a sampan to discover the lively market where the locals from come to sell and exchange various types of goods but mostly fruits and vegetable such as, watermelon, potatoes, cabbage, nut, coconut, durian…Later visit a workshop making coconut candy and popcorn.

Enjoy lunch before transferring back to Saigon. On the way back, visit the snake farm Dong Tam where is the largest snake raising center. Here you can see some pythons over 70 kg or king cobras which can kill enemies in two minutes by his venom. The center also has crocodiles, lizards, wild cats, otters and monkeys birds…Get on the car and drive back to Saigon. Tour ends.
