Mekong Delta Tour 3 Days 2 Nights
Discover Southern Vietnam at a slower, deeper pace
The Mekong Delta — a land of winding rivers, lush orchards, and peaceful villages — has long held a special appeal for French and European travelers.
Beyond its fertile landscapes, the region captivates visitors with its cultural richness, historical layers, and a gentle rhythm of life that evokes echoes of old Indochina, still alive in everyday reality.
However, many travelers today no longer wish for a rushed, overcrowded Mekong tour that merely stops at a few well-known sights.
They seek a local, authentic, and meaningful experience — one that allows genuine encounters with local people and a real understanding of life in the river delta.
This is exactly why we created our 3-day, 2-night Mekong Delta tour from Tra Vinh to Can Tho, carefully designed for travelers who value depth, authenticity, and slow travel.
Why choose Tra Vinh – Can Tho for your Mekong journey?
Tra Vinh – A peaceful Khmer gem of the Mekong Delta
Far from mass tourism, Tra Vinh charms visitors with its tranquil atmosphere and distinctive Khmer cultural identity.
The region has been home to a large Khmer community for centuries, reflected in its ancient pagodas, coconut-shaded village roads, and a way of life that remains deeply traditional.
Can Tho – The vibrant heart of the Mekong Delta
As the economic and cultural center of the region, Can Tho best represents the soul of river life in southern Vietnam.
The Cai Rang Floating Market, Ninh Kieu Wharf, traditional craft villages, and rich local cuisine together create a lively yet very authentic Mekong portrait.
Combining Tra Vinh and Can Tho offers a perfect balance between calm and activity, cultural depth and iconic river experiences.
Detailed itinerary – 3 days 2 nights
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Tra Vinh | Entering the Khmer cultural world

Enjoy a leisurely walk or cycling through rural villages, meeting local residents and experiencing a rare, unhurried pace of life.

Overnight at a quiet hotel or carefully selected homestay.
Day 2: Tra Vinh – Can Tho | River life and local traditions
After breakfast, depart for Can Tho.
The journey is intentionally relaxed, allowing travelers to enjoy a full day of discovery without rushing.
Upon arrival, lunch at a local restaurant featuring Mekong Delta specialties.
In the afternoon, visit a lush tropical fruit orchard, tasting seasonal fruits directly in the garden.
Continue to a traditional rice noodle village, where you will learn about the handmade production process and sample the famous “rice noodle pizza” — a creative culinary specialty unique to Can Tho.
Later, return to the city center for a stroll along Ninh Kieu Wharf, overlooking the gentle Hau River and the Can Tho Bridge, a symbol of the region’s modern development.
In the evening, enjoy a dinner cruise on the Hau River, savoring local dishes such as lau mam (fermented fish hotpot) or banh xeo in a peaceful, illuminated riverside setting.
Overnight at a boutique hotel or selected homestay.
Day 3: Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City | The soul of the Mekong
Early in the morning, depart by boat to visit Cai Rang Floating Market, one of the oldest and most iconic floating markets in the Mekong Delta.
At sunrise, dozens of boats gather to trade fruits, vegetables, and hot dishes, creating a vivid and unforgettable river scene.
Enjoy breakfast on board with noodle soup and Vietnamese coffee while observing daily trading activities and the unique rhythm of Mekong river life.
Return to the hotel for some rest and a late breakfast.
Before leaving Can Tho, travelers may choose one of the following optional visits:
A traditional handicraft village (coconut candy, rice paper), or
A cacao farm, learning about chocolate production and tasting fresh cacao products on site.
